Australia v Pakistan, 1st Test, Melbourne, Final day

Australia end their 2009 on the high as they beat Pakistan by 170 runs in 1st Boxing Day Test Match.

The star of the show was Nathan Hauritz who proved everybody wrong and took 4 wickets on the last day and gets an entry in the 5-wickets hall club.He bowled beautifully according to the pitch and pitch was also assist him a little bit whenever he tried to exploits the rough.

Micheal Johnson starts  a wonderful day for Australia by getting  2 wickets in the opening over of the match, that was the time when the hopes of Pakistan's victory starts to disappearing.He got Umar Akmal on 27  and Misbah-Ul-Haq on 0 in the very same fashion by caught behind, both deliveries were not that extra ordinary but the habit of playing the ball away from the body proves the downfall of Pakistan today, Mohammad Yousuf shows some determination but he was looking very thin in the ground as Pakistan wickets kept falling at regular intervals,Kamran Akmal was the next man to go he was stumped by Haddin on the bowling of hauritz , he could make only 30 runs, the very next man Mohammad Amir could not handle the pressure more then bowling and caught at silly point, that was a good delivery.Then came Abdur Rauf to face the hatric ball and he survived it but his appearance on the crease was not for long as he was bowled by Bollinger on a very good in swinging fuller delivery, he manged to score only 5 runs. Mohammad Yousuf was seeing all like a spectator at the other end. Pakistan score 249 for 8 at lunch, it was a dinner lunch for the Aussies but the Men in Green have to work really hard to beat the Aussies.

Australia 5 for 454 dec (Katich 98, Watson 93, Hussey 82, Ponting 57) and 8 for 225 dec (Watson 120*, Aamer 5-79) beat Pakistan 258 (Mishah 65*) and 251 (Yousuf 61, Hauritz 5-101) by 170 runs

After the lunch Australia without wasting time got the ninth wicket of Mohammad Yousuf , he played good innings which shows his lots of determination and skills but his innings was not enough for Pakistan to save the match, he was the victim of Nathan Hauritz who bowled extremely well on the day, last man to go was Saeed Ajmal , he played a typical tale ender stroke to get out , Watson took the catch and this was the Match for Aussies they really played superb through out the whole test match and prove their domination in world cricket.

Australia win the Boxing Day Test Match by 170 runs and end's their 2009 on the high and they will be looking to do the same in the next match as well.For Pakistan its a time to thing about their management and all other matters which are effecting Pakistan;s performance in the ground, 2009 was the worst year ever for Pakistan, Lahore terrorist attack take the game away for Pakistan completely and also Pakistan not even win a single series this year.Twenty20 department seems to be the fruit full one for Pakistan as they won Twenty20 World Cup and all the T20 matches playes this year but these are not enough to cover the problems and performances of Pakistan this year and now its the time to re-thing their strategy and planning for the future.
